A Royal Caribbean crew member has died after going overboard the cruise ship, Rhapsody of the Seas.

The crew member, identified as a 35-year-old Indian citizen, Mansley Pereira was reported overboard whilst the Rhapsody of the Seas was docked in the Croatian cruise port of Dubrovnik, Croatia.

A spokesman for the Ministry of Maritime Affairs of the Republic of Croatia confirmed that after a review of surveillance camera footage revealed that the man went overboard from the ship.

A spokesman for Royal Caribbean confirmed, “On Sunday afternoon while Rhapsody of the Seas was in Dubrovnik port, ship personnel were alerted to the incident and immediately deployed lifeboats, initiated recovery procedures, and alerted local authorities. We will continue to assist authorities in their investigation.”
